International Guide Dog Day

A huge sucess!

Wednesday 29th April was the International Day of Celebration for Seeing Eye Dogs – a day to celebrate the important role of our special dogs and  the opportunity to show off the great work they do.

The events were held at Flinders Street Station in Melbourne, hosted by Connex Rail and at the Queen Street Mall in Brisbane, supported by the Prop House.

'The smallest things can be a big problem if you're blind or have low vision', as this giant stiletto, amongst other everyday items portrayed at Flinders Street Station.

Seeing Eye Dogs are taught to locate chairs on public transport, in cafes and shopping centres.  They are a big obstacle if left pulled out.

Toys can be small but dangerous obstacles in the home, visiting friends or in department stores.  Clients depend on Seeing Eye Dogs to navigate their way through even the smallest of objects.
